At the end of December, I wrote about my new position on the developer team. I wanted to follow up with an update since some time has passed. I wanted a challenge, and that is what I got. Sometimes, it can feel a little overwhelming.
Towards the end of the month, most of the office was a ghost town. Since I did not have anywhere to go, I did not take any time off for the holidays. During that time, I was assigned a few projects. One of the projects, I was able to complete with the help of a senior software developer here.
However, the other projects needed to wait. When the New Year came around, my boss sat down with me, and went through the items that I needed more direction. I felt frustrated that I was not able to complete them on my own. Yet, those projects were a little more specific to a particular protocol.
Overall, I have been feeling a little frustrated. I am used to being able to Google for answers, and figuring it out on my own. However, most of these are office specific, and I need to ask for help. I am looking forward to the day that I am able to fly on my own.
It will happen. Only time and experience will get me there.
